Redirecting Users Folders Using Group Policy

When using GPO to redirect certain folders, very specific permissions are required on the file server.

To remove the ‘Sync’ icon overlay that redirecting folders causes to be applied, change the value of the following registry key to nothing (remove the value):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/explorer/ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers/Offline Files

The default for this key is {4E77131D-3629-431c-9818-C5679DC83E81}
